Airborne LiDAR

In airborne LiDAR, an aircraft-mounted laser scanner samples the earth surface with hundreds of thousands of pulses per second. The result is a dense, georeferenced 3D point cloud – the basis for terrain models and for vegetation and infrastructure analysis. Unlike pure photogrammetry, LiDAR penetrates vegetation and delivers reliable ground points even beneath tree canopies. That makes it particularly suited to forestry, flood protection, corridor planning and large-area as-built documentation.

Airborne laser scanning (ALS) produces high-precision 3D point clouds for surveying, planning, BIM and as-built documentation. Individually adjustable point densities yield detailed digital representations of cities, municipalities and infrastructure and corridor projects.

Point cloud classification assigns measured points to surface and object classes, automatically or manually. The result is structured datasets that serve as the basis for terrain models, analyses and further geospatial products in surveying and planning.
